Once having lived as far away as Sutter's Mill in California, Ming Chin and his wagon of wares have made their way to Dodge City, having traveled to all manner of places in between.

After a long life as a mine worker lost its charm for him, Ming Chin began to travel the world, tell fortunes and sell "ancient Chinese remedies" out of his buckboard wagon. Ming seems to be mostly well received and is very charismatic, and though a small few swear that his remedies work miracles, most people - even his friends - consider the man a charlatan.

Despite his advancing age, Ming Chin looks well fed and appears to be in good health. Ming wears a traditional Chinese garb all the time, with a dangling metallic medallion depicting a monkey that looks old and worn. He has a fondness for drink and games of chance, and has a reputation for being the luckiest man alive. Though few people challenge old men to fights, whenever it does happen, the stories people tell seem to be high comedy, with Ming drunkenly stumbling around and staggering about seemingly fleeing from his attacker but managing somehow to best them regardless.
