John is a large man, not gigantic but with  broad shoulders, thick limbs and a muscular build.

Fair skinned with golden blond hair cropped short in a crew cut, he is square jawed and serious looking. Unfortunately he is not especially handsome, having somewhat slab like features, tired looking eyes and a slightly stooped posture.

His demeanor tends to be direct and somewhat blunt, without being specifically offensive.

A member of the Security Division, John has been an open, but not especially vocal member of the "Outers" faction from early on in the movement.

Despite this he has continued to do his best to keep the peace in the Shelter in the mean time, not always an easy task given the increasing difficult situation.

An avid reader in his free time, he has come to enjoy what privacy he can manage as he unwinds from the increasingly long and difficult patrol shifts. He has also gone to the gym religiously in the past, although this has become less frequent in the recent months as calorie consumption has become a bigger issue for everyone.

Some might also know him from his collateral duty as an Emergency Medical Technician. He does wear a medical bracer during his normal patrol function and carries a small BLS bag.

Generally possessed of a calm and polite demeanor, the increasingly physical and confrontational nature of his work has hardened him in recent months as frequent violence and constant fatigue has taken its toll.
