Elanna's Family tree

Grandfather: Honto (Northern Water tribe)
Grandmother: Ekka (Northern Water tribe)

Honto and Ekka moved from the Northern water tribe to settle in the south. They had one son.

Father: Ahtun (North/South Water tribe)
Mother: Linyu (Earth Kingdom)

Ahtun, while on a voyage to the Earth Kingdom, met Linyu and became smitten, the latter of which felt likewise. Ahtun married her and brought his bride home.

Elanna has lived in the spirit world for most of her life. She is used to customs and norms common in the spirit world, to include skirting past their dangers and hiding in plain sight.

Humanity, with their nuances and hidden machinations, mostly confuses her and she often winds up seeming quite naive. She tries to pretend she knows what's going on, but she's really guessing.

Elanna is already a master in all bending, with beloved spirits dutifully training her for over a decade. With all the dangers present in the spirit world, Elanna has grown accustomed to defending herself when necessary.

When she was born, Elanna had the dark hair of her mother and father, which gradually turned white. She's always had purple eyes, however.
