Despite being just an inch or two shorter than average, Gates moves and acts like someone of much more imposing stature, combining a fighter jock's typical lack of a sense of self-preservation with the drive to be the best at everything that was all too common on her native Corellia.  A scrapper by nature, with an undeniable lust for speed, she moves with a purpose in everything she does, as if life itself was some kind of contest to be won, often exhibiting the kind of forceful personality that absolutely refuses to be ignored or overlooked - especially when at the controls of a starfighter or her own personal swoop bike.

Although more attractive than average, Gates is very much 'one of the boys', and does approximately jack-all to improve her appearance beyond her trademark day-old smudge of sooty black to define her blue eyes, and the regular washing of her cropped and tousled blonde hair - the ragged ends testament to self-done trimmings with a hand-held blade.  A symbol consisting of a pair of parallel black lines a few inches in length, each bending into short outward-facing horizontal lines at their lower ends - just barely as long as the vertical lines are wide, and the whole thing placed over six short horizontal lines, one above the other - is permanently etched into the nape of her neck.  Another less-distinct series of Mandalorian characters - five in total, perhaps an inch in height - is etched across the inside of her left wrist atop a rectangle of bright yellow.

When not attired in her custom-fitted flightsuit of sleek black and carbon grey, with bright yellow highlights, Gates can usually be found in standard-issue grey fatigues and boots, topped with a black tanktop regardless of the ambient temperature.  At all times, she carries reinforced (and heavily-scuffed) black gloves folded over the back of her belt, and a vibrodagger tucked into the outside of her right boot.  In addition, she's never without a massive matte-black blaster pistol - originally one of the Republic's standard-issue sidearms that's been modified and tweaked to her personal specifications over the years - on her right hip...unless she's in her flightsuit, in which case it rides under her left arm.
