Eris Raina

Eris has long-dark black hair, piercing blue eyes and pale, flawless skin that hasn't seen daylight in quite a while. In fact, she prefers to wear sunglasses and carries an umbrella just to use whenever she's out in daylight. Her manner of dress is always black-on-black, as black is a comforting color to her. Despite her gothic appearance, Raina does not struggle with some inner turmoil of light versus dark. Due to her Alice, she's always lived most comfortably in the darkness and there she prefers to keep herself. However, her preferences keep others at bay, who're intimidated by her differences.

Ability: Eris has the ability of shadow-based teleportation, aka Shadowport, Shadowporting or shadowmelding. Like gliding into water, Eris can "dive" into shadows and rapidly move any distance so long as shadows/darkness connects at intervals. She even has the ability to manipulate the forms of others in order to take them with her. She can hide in any size shadow and can even travel in the shadow of a person. As she's grown older and worked on her Alice, she's even developed a "shadowform" that lets her stretch shadows around her in order to move to and from shadows that aren't connected so long as it isn't in direct, strong light. She simply looks like a 2-dimensional shadow moving along the floor or wall.

SECRET: Eris is so comfortable with her shadowmelding ability she has a tendency to slide into a shadow while she sleeps. She's perfectly safe... however, her greatest danger is light. There's a possibility that if a sudden bright light was shined on a shadow she was moving or hiding in, that she may disappear with it. She's never tested it, out of fear/anxiety, and whenever it almost happens, she's managed to escape the shadow and back into physical form, as quick as anything.

Despite being a kind person, her appearance intimidates and also alienates people. She doesn't understand it when other students get up when she sits down next to them at lunch. She has grown used to it, however, and it doesn't bother her as much as it used to. She'd still very much like a friend or two.
