The Troubleshooters

“We make this step together, not as conquerors, not as representatives of Japan and France, but as humans from the planet Earth, and as explorers of a new world.”
- Captain Toyomi Ichi and Captain Yvette Collard, first moon landing, March 19th 1964.

The Troubleshooters is a game based on French/Belgian comics, such as Tintin and Spirou et Fantasio.

It is set in an alternate version of 1960s Europe (the game starts in 1965), where history ran very close to our own, but with some differences.  For example, the first (and, so far, only) moon landing was a joint Franco-Japanese mission in 1964, using an atomic-powered rocket named Kaguyahime.

The player characters of The Troubleshooters are beyond the norm.  They are often jack-of-all-trades sorts that can hold their own in many different areas, as well as competent specialists in their own fields.  They can have exotic origins or specialise in exotic fields or trades, and above all, they embrace the adventure!

Although considerably above average, the player characters are not superheroes.  The story may stretch their feats a bit, but it’s more of an exaggeration of the real and the possible than something unreal or impossible.

The unreal and impossible is left for superhero comics.
