The most obvious thing about Amardes is the fact that she is a Drow. On the surface world. Amardes has been in and out of Dangorn Port City for over a hundred years, and is quite well known locally. There are tales of her defeating the Necromancer Yegrim The Undertaker when he attacked the city with his army of undead perhaps fifty years ago, and tales of her tracking the bandits that were plaguing the Silver Mine only ten years ago. The tales are wild and fanciful, full of tales of demon armies descending from the sky under her control, and other stories of her destroying whole armies single handedly through sheer physical might. These later stories are probably made up because while not skinny she has the physique of a dancer more than a warrior

These in the know might have heard the rumours that Amardes was the Eldest Daughter of house Faen Tlabbar from Menzoberranzan, and that she fled to the surface as a result of internal politics. Others say it was because of an Illithid attack. Whatever the case right now, and for most of the last century, Amardes is a ship captain who trades from Dangorn to other places.

Amardes has the looks you would expect from a Drow. Rather than hide her heritage, she usually prefers to flaunt it. In many places that causes her problems, but she seems to be able to turn even the virulent Drow Hater into someone that at least will tolerate her. She was born as a ruler, and has put those lessons into good use even if her domain is just her ship
