Looking at Darren today, you'd never know that he was raised in the country outside of Buffalo Center, Iowa. You probably wouldn't guess that he grew up under a deluge of inculcation in extreme religious belief with a particularly hardcore family of Evangelical Christians. Nor would you be likely to hazard that he'd spent eight years as a machinist's mate in the United States Navy. Of course, even if you wouldn't guess that any of this had happened, it was all true regardless.

Darren Joseph Andersen stands an inch under average height. He has Caucasian skin, dark eyes, and dark hair. Most of the time, he sports a day's beard growth. With a wiry build and above average looks, he has little trouble obtaining attention from the ladies. Of course, that attention is unwanted because the dude is like, HELLA-gay. I know what you're thinking, all those jokes about the Navy, but I can tell you that it wasn't like that for Darren.

He joined the Navy to escape the control and vile beliefs of his family. When you want to get as far away from the middle of the country as possible, there is no better place to be than on a ship in the middle of the damn ocean. It made sense then and still does today. Since exiting the Navy however, Darren was able to fully embrace who he was as a person. His lifelong dream of being a sculptor is being realized via art school paid for by the Montgomery GI Bill, and he even managed to pick up some purpose and friends in the process.

That being said, he's had the occasional bout of social activism -pride marches, protests and the like- and that hasn't always endeared him to everyone else nearby.
