Gaius Tertius

Name: Gaius Tertius (Guy-Is Tear-Tie-Us)
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Birthright: Order
Concept:
Hair: Black
Eyes: Green
Skin: Fair
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 200lbs, athletic build

What do people see when they glance at you?
Gaius at a glance can be a bit much for the average person. Standing 6' 2", he towers over many people. This has the unfortunate effect of making him seem to loom, putting children and women on edge and making many - shorter - men defensive and aggressive in response to his presence. He's never quite learned the knack of putting people at ease, to his parents ongoing frustration. Unmistakably, there is a dimly glowing mark on his foreheard, a definite character but not one from any comon langauges. His black hair and green eyes are equally distinctive. He often carries a hammer with him; a war hammer at first glance, but those who look closer and have some familiarty with a forge will note that the grips and head of the weapon make it a useful tool as well.

What will people find out if they talk to you?
Gaius is fundamentally honest, but that doesn't mean he's absolutely open with random strangers or even slight acquaintances. As a member of a wealthy but hardly respected house, he's used to how privelege - and the perception of privilege - can be used as a weapon. When they talk with Gaius, people will generally be left with the idea of a studious, calm, rational individual who is not prone to fits of fancy. Unless of course magical theorems come into the conversation... Gaius has all kinds of ideas and experiments he'd love to try if he could only find the opportunity. Cassia has been known to start kicking his feet under the table - or while standing - to get him to stay on topic.

What will people find out if they ask around about you?
Most people would say that Gaius is privileged, with few able to look past the power and prestige wealth claims among the common folk to see the burdens and single approved path of his life laid out before him. Some say that he has never sought a marriage proposal, and his parents have certainly not advertised a search for a bride. There are rumors that he is not attacted to women, or that he doesn't look for any because his guard shares his bed already. Those among the academies will remember his frequent trips to the libraries of the Imperium, while household servants will note an absent minded lack of composure when he focuses on a project - unlike some nobility who can never set down their status, Gaius wears his like a cloak - and frequently hangs it by the door with his boots.

What will people find out if they look into your past?
Gaius does not have a secretive past. It's fairly well documented, actually; the third son of House Vassenius, he found an early aptitude towards magical understanding. The House, understanding the value of his rare flavor of magic, prioritized guarding him and arranging for Cassia to receive training that would make her an ideal companion in almost every respect for the young man, and help keep him focused on his duties towards the House. There are some claims that Gaius likes to "slum it" with apprentices among the common folk, but those who actually dig into the rumors find that House Vassenius spared no expense on any of his tutors - including those who taught him the arts of shaping metal and gems into magical constructs.
