Andwise Greenhand was a simple Halfling living in a cozy hillside in a quiet corner of the world. Unbeknownst to him, or anyone else, Elder Things had been steadily and covertly infiltrating his world for a hundred years. When the invasion struck it brought home the full weight of their alien wrath upon the Halflings who had lived untouched by the wars and struggles of the world.

Hunted for sport, farmed for food, tortured for fun, and many other unspeakably horrible fates were all that were possible after the Outsiders came. Andwise was tortured until his mind broke and in his maddened rage he struck out at his captors with a manifestation of his newfound savage will. He escaped captivity and lived constantly on the run, hunting lesser Outsiders as much as they hunted for him.

He grew tougher, meaner, and crazier through the process, abandoning simple frivolous desires to steal baubles in favor of a thirst for blood. He filed his teeth to sharp points like the legends of his race's more savage cousins and sought to emulate their toughness. Eventually, a Nexus scout gated into his world and Andwise was able to escape, joining Nexus as a Warden bent on killing all Outsiders.
