The French descended Belle was found, and rescued, by Catherine after a domestic dispute she was having with her husband spilled out on the street.  Catherine was instantly taken with Belle, unfortunately Belle was far too distraught to see Catherine for the beautiful woman she is.  Catherine called her Nightclub in Bella Vista and told them to send a limo to pick up Belle, admittedly it was a deceit directed at Belle who thought she was going to spend the night with a sympathetic woman.  It took only one glass of red wine, and some other alcohol (humans are fun when they drink), spiked with some of Catherine's blood; after that night Belle definitely learned the wonders of being around another woman, especially one she was irrevocably in love with.

Besides being a sublime companion for Catherine, Belle found other ways to occupy her time serving her Mistress.  Having been Ms. Hing at a privatized institution in Fayetteville, she found a comfortable place in Catherine's Library (It did not hurt that Catherine had bought the library for her new companion) as research assistant and librarian.  Though very little research seems to happen when both ladies occupy the Library, they tend to distract one another, happily.
