David's goals are: -

Short-term: get established in his new parish and make a success of caring for the souls within it.

Mid-term: find a suitable wife and start a family.

Long-term: become a Rural Dean and eventually a Bishop :)

Ongoing: botanical studies, lots of detailed watercolours of the local plants.

There was a vicar called Keeble-Martin who produced an 'Illustrated Flora' which resides on my bookshelf - in this reality, I'd like it to be Arabin's Illustrated Flora instead!
