History: Ma’hellas was founded by several groups of human refugees (including escaped/freed slaves)  fleeing from various opresive governments,. Since their fundation, it has devoted itself to avoid such opresive governments, giving place to a land were freedom is highly valued.

Religión:  Ma’hellas majorioty of population follows the Gods of Balance, seeing that each being has its place in the Global Life. This has led them to also valuate the nature as it is, and trying to adapt to nature, moret han adapting nature to them.

Culture: Those views of life, as well as having fleed to islands, have made them quite fond of the sea, as well as quite dependent from it, be for food, commerce or movement, making them good sailors.

Likewise, their legal system is quite unobsturbing, trusting people to act for the good of the society without needing to force them to. Nonetheloess, any abuse of this freedom is seen as one of the worst crimes that can be done. They are ususally punishedwith ostracism or banishing, though death can be sentencedin the worst cases, Prision and salvery are seen as too harsh a punishment, and are not in their legal system, seeing death as preferable option.

They also believe that nature has a place for each product to be produced, and understand that while nowhere is everything produced, and so trade is needed to have all what can be needed. Adding this to their love to sea have made them excellent sea traders.
