Taron Bayne

At an even six foot and around hundred eighty pounds of lean muscle, it wouldn't be hard to believe that Taron was the grandson of Kristopher Bayne, a Scottish Highland immigrant who has had his ranch outside Escondido since the town had a name. Nor that he was the son of Wade Bayne, the last Sheriff of Escondido and a very respected one, before his death. Except he doesn't look anything like a Scot, favoring the complexion of his mother, Ysabella, a full blooded Comanche. His hair is dark and hangs loose past his shoulders when not pulled back at the temples, and the eyes are a grey, perhaps a combination of his mixed heritage.
Taron's clothes could also be a mix of his bloodlines. He wears softened elkskin pants tucked into his moccasins made by his mothers father. A collarless light linen shirt hangs past his waist and is held closed by leather ammo belt. No gun hangs from that belt, instead a large knife is sheathed on his right hip and a wicked, spiked 'Tomahawk' on his left. His fathers 1862 sheriffs model with a 5 inch barrel converted to 38-40 hangs under his left arm in a custom shoulder rig with two loaded cylinders under his right arm. Taron often carries twin boot knives and another ebony handled blade holstered to the back of his holster rig. He is also hardly ever far away from his 1873 Winchester carbine also chambered in 38-40.
He has lived in Escondido all his life, and has many friends here. He also does not know a stranger, he always has a smile, a Howdy, or a helping hand to those new to town. His grandfather, "Ole Bayne" is his hero since his father was killed and a close second to his heart is Escondido, the town that has embraced him despite his Half-Blood. Third is his friends and especially one Lola Montoya Torres, tho 'Ole Bayne and Chino Montoya (Lola's father) have not always seen eye to eye in business deals. Some in town say Taron will be the next Sheriff of Escondido, an office left empty for the past five years since Wade Baynes death.
