Gorren was raised in a hold within Rhul, where he showed great aptitude with steam engines and mechanika, although he sadly lacked the magical aptitude to create mechanika and could only repair them.

Unlike his bretheren who are traditionalists are rarely want to innovate, Gorren always had ambitions to create new machines or improve the weapons of Clan Stonefist, with his greatest desire to create a series of steam armour to reduce the reliance upon warjacks.

However, an accident in the foundry cause the death of a fellow engineer. Due to some family influence, Gorren was exiled instead of imprisoned, told that he could never return back to his hold on pain of death. As such, Gorren intends to prove his abilities in the human nations, where innovation is more welcomed. Then one day he will return and prove his skill so that his exile will be relinquished.
