BECMI Goodness - Return to Red Book
OK everyone, this is my attempt to get back to the first RPG (and all of the joy that it brought me) that I ever played. This is straight out of the Larry Elmore (Mentzer) covered Basic and Experts books. I hope to eventually move onto the Companion, Masters, and (dare I hope?) Immortals rules. The early chapters will be module play, beginning with The Lost City, and running through my collection of classic BECMI D&D modules until I run out of interesting adventures. I'm open to various different styles of play, from more serious role-play to Monty Haul, but there needs to be something approaching group consensus on the style.Let me know what you want to play (there just isn't a huge range of character types to play) and who you are. I'll mostly be letting in people that I already know, but if we don't know each other, please let me know what your gaming background is and why I should let you in. I don't want to be a jerk here, but we've all been burned by the players who didn't fit with our gaming styles, so I'd like to at least make an attempt to look for compatibility.
We've been doing about three to five moves or actions per week, with much kibitzing and chat on the side. I prefer to keep in-character and out-of-character chat separate, so please be respectful with side-bars. Also, I don't expect adult content in this game, as the feel and the system aren't the same as it's older cousin AD&D. If I find players who I feel can handle it, and if there is demand for it, I might consider adding adult-content to the game, but that seems unlikely at this point. Keep it PG-13 at most, please.
