Personality: Although most people might not believe it, J.T. is an incredibly patient individual. However, he experiences time at such a vastly different rate of speed than the people around him that he can run out of patience pretty quickly by their standards. He always seems in a rush, because he basically has no choice in the matter.

Ever get stuck on line at the supermarket behind an old woman paying with pennies? Get trapped in the right lane on the highway behind an RV? Contemplate climbing down the outside of the building if the damned elevator doesn't show up already?!

This is J.T.'s life.

J.T.'s main focus in life is to fill the void between ticks of the clock. He has a thousand minor hobbies, he has read more books than he can count.

Appearance: 5'10", slim. Scruffy black hair, blue eyes. Blurry. J.T. has so much excess energy that he literally vibrates. It's hard to actually focus the eyes on him, and there's no such thing as taking a good photograph of him anymore. Not without an ultra-high speed camera, anyway.

J.T. always looks unkempt, because he can't keep his hair neat, his shirt can't stay tucked in, and his clothes might actually begin falling apart on him over the course of a long day.

Distinguishing Characteristics: (see above)

Power(s): J.T. 's primary power is super-speed movement, which he can barely restrain. His top running speed has yet to be clocked. His senses and reflexes are commensurately accelerated.

His body is always vibrating (Limitation; see also: Description). He can increase this at will, causing a touch-based vibratory attack, cracking or shattering any number of substances/surfaces.

Weakness(es): Eats/Drinks a *LOT*.

Likes: Fortunately for J.T. , he likes to read, which is one of the few activities he can do at whatever pace he chooses... and there's a lot of material to go through. He's an indiscriminate reader, these days. He'll read a textbook to pass some time, if there's nothing else around.

He also likes to write, and does so on an old, manual typewriter that he can disassemble and maintain (which he needs to do everyday to keep from wearing it out). See skills for additional details on this.

Dislikes: Having to wait.

Mundane Skills and Abilities:

• Mechanic. J.T. used to assist in his father's shop, long before he developed powers, and his ability as a mechanic is only boosted by his speed. Anything that he doesn't fully understand, he has plenty of time for trial-and-error examination. Thus he's an excellent mechanic, because he can figure out any problem in a matter of seconds.
  

Family and other important relationships: Father (Charlie Talbot), a mechanic. Mother deceased, no siblings.

Fifteen Years Later...

As Jitter, JT is a mainstay of the X-Men. He basically lives at the mansion, but barely uses his bedroom because he doesn't sleep anymore. He teaches mechanical engineering at the mansion, to the current crop of students. In his spare time, he works at his father's garage in New Jersey, repairing old cars.

He has written over one hundred novels, using more than a dozen pseudonyms. Some of them are actually pretty good. He writes at super-speed when everyone else is asleep.

JT has learned to walk from place to place, too. Not everything is done at hyper-speeds anymore, unless necessary. If not for the constant vibration, which he's never quite managed to control, you might even mistake him for a normal person.
