Willem is a young man with an old face and a military bearing. He wears a chain shirt with a grey tabard bearing a white gauntleted fist - the sigil of Torm, God of Courage and Self-Sacrifice - surrounded by red flames. Those who know of such things would recognise it as the vestments of the Holy Protectors of Torm, except... their tabards are black, not grey. Across his back is strapped a plain but sturdy greatsword, and at his belt is a fine-looking morningstar mace.

He has a mop of sandy coloured hair atop his head, usually kept closely cropped, as well as a short beard on his young chin. Across his right cheek he has a grey mark, like two pale stripes reaching from his nose to his ear. Closer inspection suggests they are neither a tattoo nor a birthmark, but a rare sign left by the touch of a high priest, the Mark of Atonement. Only a true penitent would bear such a mark, but for what crime, who can say?

His mount is a bay gelded rouncey named Draxus, a sturdy looking beast in leather barding and carrying saddlebags. Strapped to the saddle are a warhammer and shield, for use when mounted.
