First Rider of the Quarani

The Quarani were a rival tribe to that of Kali's mother Ljira, who belonged to the Xirashu. The tribes were constantly in competition with them in terms of horse breeding and warrior prowess. A great scandal broke out when Kali's father broke his engagement to a Quarani woman and instead wed Ljira. Relations with Quarani soured and a few years later they broke away from the confederation and set off towards the east.

The tribe is led be three persons: the First Shield, who has exceptional sorcerous prowess; the First Rider, who is skilled particularly with a horse and bow; and the First Blade, who excels at combat on the ground, and usually in tactics.

Ghada has been the First Rider of her people for nearly a year. Like all warriors of her tribe, her face is covered in beautiful, intricate geometric tattoos. She is in her late twenties and a little on the short side, but on horseback she is both elegant and fiercely commanding. She wears the traditional hardened leather armour of her people, said to be magically blessed to make it stronger. There is always a powerful bow at her back, along with light but deadly axe and a long spear.
