 Side Effect: After overusing his powers Garet has random muscle spasms, ranging from simple tics to full on seizures.

 Background:  Garet is the youngest son of a merchant family and as such never really knew what he was going to do with his life.  With two older brothers he never really had to learn to run their businesses so he was mostly left to his own devices as a child.  He developed a fondness for stories of faraway places and longed to travel.  Eventually his father allowed him to go on trips with caravans and he learned a great deal from these travels.  However he also saw bandit attacks and other parts of the dark side of the world.  He began to learn to fight from the caravan guards both to protect himself and to help guard his family's interests.  Initially he learned to fight with a staff but eventually decided to use a spear.  He wanted one that he could still use his staff techniques with though so he had to get one with a blade on both ends to maintain the balance.  Convincing his father to let him get a custom made weapon took some effort, but he did it.  He served as a guard for his family's caravans for several years and his skills grew quickly.  Eventually his father called for him and made him an offer, if he wanted to fight and protect he would arrange a chance for him to become a knight and a protector of the princesses.  The gesture wasn't entirely altruistic, having a knight in the family would give them a great deal of prestige and open up new opportunities to expand their dealings.  However he didn't try to force Garet to go he knew that if he did his son would only laze around and make him look bad, far better to convince him to do it willingly.  Garet took his time to decide what to do, he eventually decided to take his father's offer.  He could still help his family this way, and to be honest it would probably be more fun, the bandits he fought as a guard were usually unskilled and easily beaten.  So he set out to join the knights, determined to do his best.

 Appearance: At just over six feet tall and toned from his constant training Garet is an impressive figure.  He has brown hair that has been bleached at the tips from his time in the sun and his skin is tanned for the same reason.  His quiet blue eyes sit in a boyishly handsome face that he tends to be a bit self-concious of as he doesn't think it suits a warrior.  He wears a light suit of leather armor with steel reinforcment over his torso, shoulders, forearms, and lower legs.  He chose this style of armor as it affords some protection without signifigantly hindering his movements.  He carries his spear on a custom made harness on his back, wrapped in a blue cloth.


 Personality: Garet is a quiet and easygoing young man most of the time.  He sees little point to worrying about little things and often seems uninterested in what goes on around him.  However he works almost without rest in order to accomplish anything he sets his mind to.  This most often manifests itself through his combat training and performance of his duty as a knight.  Becoming a knight was a choice he made and as such he takes it very seriously.  He trains with his spear constantly to hone his skills and be sure he can  protect his charge.

 Likes: listening to music, sketching, eating

 Dislikes: storms, cruelty, anyone who breaks a promise

 Fears: Failing in his duties as a knight

 Powers: Garet can channel his power into his body and weapon allowing him to perform almost unbelievable techniques.  He uses this talent to enable the techniques of his fighting styles.

        Three Elements Style(Wants to make it 4 styles, but has yet to develop a fire style.)

        Flowing Water Style:A style adapted from staff fighting techniques.  It focuses on defense by dodging or deflecting blows.  It's offensive techniques are either counters or used to open opponent's guards by moving their weapons and then striking in the opening it provides.
          Techniques: Bending Currents :Used to stop a charging opponent.  First he deflects the opponent's weapon while moving to the opposite side then strikes their legs to destroy their balance.
                            Counter:Blocking an attack and then spinning with the momentum of the opponent's strike to return the blow to them.  Simple in theory difficult to do.

        Crushing Earth Style:Adapted from spear fighting techniques, it focuses on heavy blows meant to break through an opponents defenses.  Thrusting attacks feature heavily in the style's techniques.
          Techniques: Meteor:Garet jumps into the air above his foe and stabs down at them putting the strength of his arms and all of his weight behind the blow.
                            Stone Breaker:A lunging thrust designed to put maximum force behind the spears point.

        Scything Winds Style:Garet's unique double spear style.  It is based on rapid attacks and primarily uses slashing attacks.
          Techniques: Wind Slicer:Slashing the air Garet creates a blade of air as a ranged attack.
                            Whirlwind :A spinning move used to deliver multiple slashes without having to change the direction of the slash.  Can be used as a crowd control or to deliver multiple strikes quickly.
