Orphaned from the destroyed shadow of Laroux, Simon along with his friends Nigel, Robert and Nicholas found themselves adrift amongst the Amberites until they befriended Drake, son of Corwin.

Corwin and Constance, Drake's mother, took in the four boys and raised them alongside their own son in the Coral Circle kingdom of Llys, Constance's home. The shadow was run at a high rate of speed enabling the boys to grow up swiftly as time crawled in Amber.

Now a respectable man, Simon intends to make his mark on Amber, and more importantly, to reconnect with the woman he's had a crush on since his early childhood.
