Caesar

Character Name: Yuliy Ivanovich Aleksandr
Character Aliases: Caesar
Gender: Male
Age Bracket: Early 20's

Cast Description : Yuliy wears his black curly hair short and unstyled, a good 6 inches in length. His physical stature is intimidating, the size and tone of his body pulled right out of a Renaissance marble sculpture; seemingly perfect and proportionate in every way. Despite his presence, he actually cares a benign demeanor. When there isn't an urgent matter as part of the team or field work to be done, Yuliy dresses like a sharp businessman or even a head-of-state, with well-tailored suits and ties. He often carries with him white gloves, like that of a curator.

Personality: Yuliy is a very curious young man, wanting to know as much as he can about just about everything. He already knows an extensive amount, but the more he knows the more valuable of an asset he becomes, among other things.  Even if he isn’t always interested in the other party, he is a very good listener, always willing to let those around him let off steam or ask a favor, which he rarely refuses. He can have a streak of arrogance about him: as well learned and methodical as he is, he tends to have more insight than most, and it does go to his head.

Mutant Powers:

Into the past: Yuliy can see “ghosts” and glimpses into the past of any space that he is occupying. Working with the team, it’s usually within the past hours or days, though with focus and time, he can see all the way into antiquity, and can mentally project what he sees into the world around him.
When Yuliy holds an object, he can also see that items past. Where and how it was made, where it’s been, who has used it and what it was used for. This is why he often carries curators gloves: to prevent him from picking up 'memories' from everything he touches. He can often have the misperception of being germaphobic: keeping his items to himself and reluctant to use ones from others.

"Imperator’s Strength”: Despite having no love for engaging in sports or exercise, Yuliy has been blessed with a muscular build and with strength, endurance, and resistance to pain far beyond that of a normal person. He may not be in the same league as that farm-boy Piotr (Colossus) but he’ll still more than hold his own.

The Last Roman (Passive): Yuliy has “memories” of different places and times throughout history, even though he couldn’t possibly have lived at that time. The only consistency in them is that they all are memories of being a soldier or warrior in some major conflict at the time.

Non Mutant abilities:

Even before the manifestation of his powers, Yuliy was always interested in history, and now with the help of those powers, holds doctorates in the fields of History, Archaeology, Anthropology, with lesser degrees in Rhetoric and Religious studies.
Through a combination of training with the other X-men, and his latent memories, Yuliy is well versed in hand-to-hand combat as well as a wide variety of weapons.
Public speaker: despite his remarkable young age, Yuliy has shown not only his expertise in history, but is an accomplished lecturing professor as well.
Wealthy upbringing: from a privileged family, Yuliy has found a strong liking to the lifestyle of the well-off: art museums, ballets, orchestra’s.
Yuliy is fluent in Russian and English, as well as Latin, Greek, Celtic, and many other ancient “dead” languages

Weaknesses:
While Yuliy does have a friendly disposition by default, he doesn’t always work well in a team. He feels qualified to be leader, given sufficient time to learn the ropes, and has little trouble letting his disagreements with a plan or with authority be known. While he has little trouble using his family’s wealth and resources to help those who are in need, he often uses it when it benefits him personally, or creates an opportunity to expand his own sphere of influence in the public sector.
His vision powers are by default always on, showing all manner of different times at random. He must spend at least some mental effort to resist them or compel them away, or else risk confusing the past with the present. As a result he is particularly vulnerable to altered states of mind, either as influence from telepathy or even mundane means such as alcohol.

Equipment (tools, weapons, gadgets, specialized clothing, vanity items, etc):

Notepad: Yuliy usually keeps a small pocket notepad and pen on hand at all times to take important notes, in case he happens to see something important that he needs to remember in detail. It’s also his planner, rather than relying on an electronic device for help.

Gladius: Though laughably old-fashioned, Yuliy still prefers to carry the Roman sword while on missions. He doesn’t use it on people (obviously) but it does help put his mind in the right place, and with his superior strength, it can cut throw a fair amount of things.

Curators gloves: Yuliy often wears them when handling items to preserve as well as to block his powers from interacting with every single thing he touches.

Previous History:
Yuliy Ivanovich Aleksandr was born to a prominent and important Russian family just after the fall of the Soviet Union. As the economy collapsed, his family moved to the US in order to preserve and grow what wealth they did have. His father had paid the proper lip service to maintain the status quo in the old country, but longed for and flourished under the freedom found in the US. Here, a young Yuliy was doted upon, giving all of the opportunities parents could ever want for their child. With the flip side of the coin, Yuliy was also expected to fulfill all of these opportunities. Thankfully for him, academics came naturally to him and quickly exceeded even his demanding father’s expectations, having completed his doctorate in History just before his 21st birthday. It was hoped that Yuliy would show interest in the politics of his adoptive homeland, and while he had kept a good eye on the goings on, he refused to pursue that avenue.
It was shortly after this point, as he pursued archaeology and other fields that his mutant powers manifested: the physical growth and seeing the ancient builders of the ruins he and his team were studying. Fearing a medical condition, Yuliy went back to the US for assistance, eventually coming in contact with the Xavier Institute. Understanding what he was and what was going on, Yuliy is now applying his research and his resources to alter historiography itself and make a truly definitive history paper on mutants. In doing do, he hopes to expand the understanding and acceptance of Mutant kind. He knows it's a long shot, but he also knows that the long shots have always been the ones that make history...
