Kuush the Hound

Kuush is the adopted companion of Kronin, son of Krolin, and the former protector of the late Prince Frálin, son of King Gálin Wide Blade of the Broadbeam Dwarves in the North. He came into the service of Kronin during the search for Frálin's murderer, in which he was found gravely wounded and fresh from a struggle.

Kuush was perhaps saved from death by the healing arts of Noin, son of Balin, who also sought justice at that time. The hound proved an important element in the investigation, as the marks of his teeth upon the leg of Gandin, son of Grúndin gave his involvement away before the King Under the Mountain.

He is of the breeds commonly used to guard livestock from the predation of Wolves and sometimes Bears, and his kind can be commonly seen attending to the flocks of sheep and goats that graze the slopes of GOND-AMON. While not a true northern breed, his thick shaggy coat is none the less well suited to the mist shrouded pastures and frequent rains of that land.

His coat is dark gray, lightening to an off white about the insides of his legs and his underbelly and his eyes are yellow. The fur of his left flank bears an off colored patch where he was stabbed during the defense of his former master, and the fur that grows there now is always uneven.
