Appearance: A young sailor just crossing the line between "fresh-faced newcomer" and "salt-soaked veteran," Rafe has been around ships all his life and is starting to get the muscle to prove it.  He dresses simply when on duty, but when left to his own devices he tends to strut a little bit.

He apparently just spent way too much gold on a big ol' bastard sword, and is anxious to show it off.

Backstory: Rafe "grew up" in Absolom...which is to say, the instant he could feasibly get on a boat, he was out of there.  He's sailed all around the inner sea, mostly in the workman routes--the safe, unrewarding, workman routes.  He is starting to chomp at the bit for more.  More risk, more REWARD.

This voyage to the Shackles ought to put him well on the way to a ship of his own.  Provided of course nothing goes wrong...
