Rifts - Those who would be Gods (Adult Rated)

Rifts Earth.
September 3rd, 103 PA.
The City of Lazlo, Aberdeen gardens District.

The sun shines down through the verdant canopy of hundreds of different plants and flowers from dozens of different worlds. The area designated by Plato for the meeting was a small garden off of the main thoroughfare, secluded and quiet. Only the hum of insects can be heard as they work diligently in the final days before fall comes. The garden courtyard is tiled in grey marble, with a large ornate fountain draining slowly into a pool of Koi fish. Surrounding the pool are eight evenly spaced marble benches, behind those tower thick marble pillars, unseen under a dense wrapping of vines and ivy.

Seated at one of the benches sits Plato, dressed in simple white linen robes and sandals, he reads from a large, archaic book, whose cover is scratched, pitted and worn with age. His hair and beard are cropped close, icy blue eyes stare out of a weathered and care-worn face.  His bare chest and arms show a strength that belies his apparent age. Despite his aged form, he radiates an aura of calm power and ancient wisdom. As the group begins to arrive, descending the marble stairs to the garden, he lays the book beside him on the bench and stands, spreading his arms wide in greeting.

OOC:
You were all issued a personal invitation or a hand written one (depending on your choice) asking you to meet with the great Dragon Plato. The letter or invitation essentially said that Plato had had a vision, a vision of the future. In his vision, great suffering and death would come to the world if Erin Tarn was not found and protected. Erin Tarn has been missing for eight months and despite her absence, Plato doesn’t feel that she is dead, only in need of assistance. He asks you to come to the meeting because each of you was in his vision. Should you need some reward or incentive to undertake this mission, you have but to name it. Wealth is worthless when compared to friendship or life.
