Zarii'eyl Vahadarr

Youngest daughter of Raena'stra'breena, recently-deposed former Matron of the House, Zarii'eyl Vahadarr's course in life was always set for her. Her birth, as a twin, was considered a blessing from Lolth, and there was never any doubt or deviance in her path to becoming a priestess of the Spider Queen. Not even after the coup that shook Rilauven society and opened up other paths that she could excel at.

Fully trained at Arach-Tilinith, Zarii'eyl spent her time as an initiate in the Priesthood of Lolth, while acting as the typical young, ambitious Drow. She gained favors, worked with other Houses within Luen's alliance, and studied fervently in a broad range of topics, knowing that knowledge was its own weapon.

That all came crashing down when her older sister, Jys'arra, overthrew their mother and executed two of their sisters in a purge that shook and weakened the house greatly. Zarii'eyl was captured in the first day of the House's coup, and tortured personally by the new Matron Mother for well over a week. Finally, though neither has spoken of what happened, Zarii'eyl was proclaimed a convert of Vhaeraun as she denounced her former goddess.

Some have questioned whether her conversion is truly genuine, though all know that the Spider Queen would hardly be forgiving should her former cleric return to her faith. Regardless of opinions, or her own apparent despondent nature since the ordeal, the young Drowess still seems to have much potential and power in service of her new diety, as she did with her former.

Not nearly as large as her twin, Zarii'eyl is rather average in height and size, though even in race of beauty she is rather exceptional in her looks. This is accented with the golden amber eyes of the main family, along with her smooth singer's voice and skill with a harp. However despite her skill with bow, she has a look of frailness about her slender frame, and she has always been lesser suited than most Drow when it comes to using a dedicated melee weapon.

Having never left the city, for before Jys'arra's coup her training kept her from any martial activities, it has been rare to see her in anything but the long silk dresses she prefers, the high slits and low necklines doing nothing to hide her body in the popular Drow fashion. While her jewelry is often changed in time with the occasion or her outfit, for decades she has always worn a silver band on her right middle finger. If one looks closely, they would see a small rune marking its surface, with a pair of deep golden gems on either side as if they were a pair of eyes.

Her armor is minimal, a chain shirt that covers her torso, but leaves her arms and lower legs bare. Over this she wears her piwafi, though it is unadorned beyond simple patterns, not truly distinguishable from any other. At her hip is a large quiver of broad head arrows, while in her hand is a composite bow, a rare and unusual choice for a Drow in the Underdark.

Her priestly vestments, for the times when she wears them, are long and flowing silks of silver and black, the skirts having high slits on either side, while a disk chain belt of silver and onyx graces her hips. A mantle of long white panels hang down over her front, black elvish runes of prayer are stitched into the white cloth. A simple black mask completes the image of a Vhaeraunite Priestess.
