100 Worlds

100 Worlds.

100 Worlds is our home, Humanity's region of space, shaped more or less like an old banana about 350 light lears long.

It's been three centuries since the aliens came.  They taught us things, they gave us gifts, they gave us access to the stars, they helped us found our colonies... they insisted.  All they demanded in return was that we do it their way.  They created our Commonwealth, and solved our problems.  We gave up things like "Democracy" for the good of all.
And now some are questioning that choice.  There are stirrings, beginnings of things... and some people call it right, and some people call it wrong, but there it is.

A great author, centuries ago, wrote something at start of a book... maybe, somehow, he was writing about today, in the 100 Worlds:


“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”

We are using Cepheus Engine, which is a Open Content game available as a pay-what-you-want pdf.  You can find it easily on the internet.  It is sort of Genericized Traveller.

That being said, I have made a lot of changes, to better reflect the universe and stories here.  Space is 3D, for one.

Characters here are human- aliens are too alien to effectively work as part of a human team.

This isn't going to be a monster hunting space terror shoot-em-up.  Nor will it be a math-fest of calculating space cargo costs.  This is going to be a social, human story about Getting By, when the rest of the Universe is having trouble.  Humanity is deeply divided, possibly on the verge of falling into separate, armed camps.  But... is either side really in the wrong?

I intend to run things "rules lite".  The most challenging part to Traveller/Cepheus Engine is creating a character.  I can create characters for players who do not want to go through this, we'll just work out what you are after and take it from there.
