Appearance: Samar is relatively tall for a woman, with a toned and athletic body thanks to years of law enforcement service. Her curly blonde hair is cropped short, just barely in line with official regulations, and she usually wears the standard grey uniform or combat jumpsuit. Her blue eyes alternate between sparkling with mischief or wariness, and she always seems tense, as if ready to strike.

History: Samar was born aboard a small, fledgling colony in the Sobek system. Life was harsh, especially in the wake of the Mandate's collapse, and many among the colony developed a bizarre doomsday cult, dedicated to worshiping the long-dormant Mandate AIs that had once ran the station. This cult of the 'Machine God' eventually grew more violent, until finally a band of government commandos stormed the colony in order to seize its resources and free those under the cult's thrall. After years of therapy and reconditioning, Samar enlisted in the Horus Prime police force, helping keep order during the wars with the Gherai. Eventually she was selected for the Icarus Division: an elite band of soldiers and police officers dedicated to hunting down rogue AIs and renegade military robots. She spent the next few years in this role, hunting down robots from both sides that had defied their programming. With the establishment of peace, she spent another year among the Gherai, helping to enforce new common regulations against certain types of technology.
