ALCUIN - (That's it, just Alcuin)

The dreadlocks are browny gray (if that's a colour) but the beard is snow white.
He wears misshapen waterproof, wide brimmed hat and a waxed cotton jacket over a western
shirt and a pair of combat pants.  Sometimes (on stage) he wears a pvc dress with a veil
and calls himself Emily Zero.

Alcuin was born in 1960, somewhere in the East Midlands about a hundred miles north of
London and pretty close to Leicester, Lincoln and Nottingham. His father worked in an engine factory but ached to go back to working for the forestry commission.  His mother was a violent psychopath and the manageress of an open air swimming pool.  Alcuin was, while growing up, well acquainted with fear.  Both of Alcuin's parents are dead now but he has two brothers, one a retired fireman in London, the other a physiotherapist in Manchester.

Alcuin lives with his wife, her son and her grandson.  If it weren't for her he would long ago have drifted into drugs, alcohol and madness.  He stopped drinking five years ago after recovering from a bout of prostate cancer when coincidentally he was diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy (formerly known as psychomotor epilepsy).

He is a retired civil servant but now he is lead singer in more than one band.
