Bryxton Ortiz

Bryxton Ortiz, aka Bricks, is a rough mercenary that has gone through a lifetime of challenge and change, before finding himself running in the shadows. Born to the sprawling Ortiz family in the Ork Underground of Seattle, he supposes he had it better than some. Despite the crushing poverty, lack of natural light, and constant fights with fellow street urchins in order to survive, he had fourteen brothers and sisters watching his back, and a mother and father that cared, even if they had too many mouths to feed.

Unsurprisingly, like six of his siblings, Bryxton had to turn to crime in order to try to make enough Nuyen to feed himself and his family. Two of them died, and the other four ended up in prison. Which is where he ended up when he was a teenager, as he was caught by Lone Star stealing inventory out of the back of a Stuffer Shack. Sent to Hollywood Correctional Facility for three years, Bryxton acquired some of his more gnarly scars and stories.

Near the end of his sentence, Bryxton was approached by a PMC recruiter from The Free Marine Corps. While the Ork Underground had given him some public education, Bryxton found himself intrigued by the idea of receiving a more in-depth technical education, as well as work experience that could set him up with a cushy Corp Security gig when his contract ran out, Bryxton accepted the offer and joined up as soon as he was released. For the next ten years, he spent his time engaging from everything from hostage rescue, to disaster relief, to VIP protection, everywhere from the Carib League to Imperial Japan. And he liked it. But for all his martial skill, he had no leadership ability, which meant that he was never going to rise up through the ranks. So when his ten year contract ran out, he decided to to renew it.

Returning to his native Seattle, Bryxton has decided to become his own boss, and cut out the middle men in order to earn boatloads of Nuyen. With his skills and equipment, he was a very attractive deniable asset for potential Johnsons. He's only been running for the past year, but it has been a lucrative year so far. He eagerly awaits to see what the future holds...
