Boris Underhill

Boris was born to a poor halfling family in a large trading city.

His career began as an honest merchant apprentice to a master trader. As a youth, Boris was accused of being involved in shady dealings, arrested and sent to jail on trumped-up charges by corrupt officials at the behest of a wealthier rival seeing to discredit his master.

After he escaped he was unable to find honest work and survived at the margin of the law, taking packages from one community to another, usually to avoid taxes and tariffs or usurious permits to use the King's Roads. His typical job was to work as a go-between for Thieve's Guilds and/or fences in what to him was basically a victimless crime.

Cynical due to his experiences but won't cheat or steal from what he considers "honest or little folk", is more interested in sticking it to the Man when he can or preying on the lying, cheating nobles and fat-cat scumbag merchants.

He is dressed as someone who travels the road a lot. Barefoot, large backpack. Cloak over a tunic and trousers. A gold crucifix is hung on a chain around his neck.
