Lt (jg) Gian Seingalt

Gian Seingalt (pronounced ZHON SIGN-gahlt)

Gian Seingalt grew up in Stephensville, a spaceport tourist town on the banks of the Farragut River, at the south end of Garrovick Valley, founded in 2301 as interest in anything James T. Kirk (in this case, his woodland cabin on Centaurus) skyrocketed in the years following his disappearance. He was raised on the stories of Kirk's heroism after the 2269 terrorist attack on New Athens, and came to idolize the captain, aspiring to follow in his footsteps.

Stephensville was a small place, built mostly around the spaceport and subsisting almost solely on the tourist trade, and there were often more visitors in town than citizens on any given day. Gian was a big fish in this small pond, excelling in school and athletics, and he became the first son of Stephensville to be accepted into Starfleet Academy in 2369.

There, he learned that he wasn't the only intelligent and athletic student in the galaxy; nevertheless, he worked hard in his studies, and even made the academy track & field team. Gian also excelled at other Kirk-like pursuits, earning a reputation that followed him into the fleet.

However, it was in the field that Gian truly flourished. During his cadet cruise, he rescued six crewmembers in an engineering accident before he was overcome by toxic fumes. Spending three months in recovery, Gian finished his coursework from a biobed. He received a promotion to Lieutenant, junior grade, but also lingering inner-ear damage that leaves him disoriented in zero-G environments.

Gian's first assignment was a shakedown cruise of USS Ackerman, where he worked extensively on the weapons systems. After two years serving as a junior engineer on the Ackerman, he was transferred to the hospital ship USS Mercy, where he participated in relief efforts following the Battle of Betazed.

Following his tour on the Mercy, Gian was transferred to Starbase 21 for operations regarding a Dyson sphere discovered in 2369 by the crew of the Enterprise.

Gian is tall, athletic, and handsome, with a piercing gaze that can melt the hardest of hearts. He's quick with his trademark grin, and always seems to be in the presence of one or two lovely ladies; however, he's also disciplined, and knows where to draw the line when duty calls.
