Derrick is a retired city watch sergeant.  A strong and physically imposing man in his prime, he is over sixty now, slower and, although he is still large and relatively strong, his bones and muscles ache, and a blow from his large hands doesn’t have the effect it once did.  Retired, widowed, and nearing the end of his life, he has discovered a new found faith in The Warrior.  Whilst not suicidal or fatalistic, he has lived a good life, and wants to spend the time he has left to him making his beloved city a better place.  He will be helpful, but reserved, and admires strength of character as much as strength of arms.  He does not see himself as a hero, but wants to stand beside those that are.
