Mr. Cherrywinks is the subject of many bizarre and frightening tales. Most of these stories involve this imaginary figure hurting children..

Adult versions of the story mention human vices such as greed and arrogance; others cataclysmic 'pretend' wars that laid entire nations waste. A few bestselling short stories have been written on this. In one such tale, Mr. Cherrywinks runs around with a pair of scissors saying 'got your nose!'

New folklore has shed more light on the subject. The most intriguing figure in the many disparate accounts is not that of Mr. Cherrywinks, as one might expect, but the flawed genius of Dravar Djezendek, whose recently translated journals from the 1930s have offered further revelations.

And in recent developments of the myth, Mr. Cherrywinks is the one responsible for the grisly deaths occurring on route 50.
