Slight and willowy, Evie's Rhoynish blood is clear in the sandy cast to her skin and the dark tresses that curl around her shoulders.  Thanks to the rigors of her day to day life, she tends to wear simple homespun clothes and keep her hair bound up in a rather unflattering knot that is utterly without artifice.  These choices keep her unhindered while she works, but have done little to improve her chances of being married off over the years.  While none would ever call Evie a beauty, great or otherwise, her smile is warm and manner quite sweet at times.  Unfortunately, when Yvaine speaks her voice is often difficult to catch, seeming slight, breathy, and often so quiet as to be drowned out entirely in noisy areas.  Her mother has despaired of ever teaching her to sing, as the first few attempts ended with breathless squeaks and cracked notes abounding; however, it would be a dire mistake to assume that Evie's vocal reticence is a mark of weakness.  Long hours spent roaming the fields and pastures her family tends have made the slight seeming young woman surprisingly tough.  Some small fraction of that strength can be seen in her dancing though, which has a vitality that speaks for her when words falter.
