Rob enlisted right out of high school, joining the Army and did three tours overseas during his six years before he returned home. There his background soon had him in Police Academy and then graduating to beat cop. With a stellar record and the encouragement, he wrote the detective's exam only three years, but before he found out his results, he was approached by a recruiter for the US Marshal Service. Rob jumped at the opportunity.

He spent his first eight months infiltrating a white power organization in  Louisiana and busting open a drugs for guns operation. He had to go into Witsec for a brief time to ensure his safety after the trials, then spent the better part of a year on low level assignments before his supervisors deemed there was no risk of retribution and allowed Rob back in the field. Since he had been a competent marshal with a solid arrest rate. His success has not been without issues, but the few complaints against his methods had never gone anywhere despite his being a bit unorthodox at times.

Under the surface however, Rob has his demons. His mother's side of the family owned a large import/export business. This business is actually a front for the Petrovic family interests, a major player in the Russian underworld. Robert has done everything he can to break ties to the his uncle Vasily, but every so often they ask for little "favours", usually in exchange for information on his cases. The favours are never anything that might compromise Rob, but enough he would lose his job at very least if he was ever found out. He knows he is between a rock and a hard place, especially since his breakout case had been blown wide open by evidence supplied that had led to the downfall of a rival gun running organization. Rob doesn't know everything his uncle is behind, but he is certain drugs are not part of the equation. He even considered turning on Vasily, but he got the message quickly after his father was in a traffic accident the same day his apartment building caught fire.

Backed in a corner, he does the best he can, knowing that at some point  the truth will come out Until then, his plan is to nab as many bad guys as he can and hope he can make a difference before they take his badge away, the only option he can see his superiors having.
