Name: Brionne Lynnis

Appearance: Scrawny but tough, Brionne has dark hair kept short and brown eyes.  She has the ritual scarring patterns that mark an apprentice shaman, as well as a couple of other scars from her “not so spirit” spirit guide. The palms of her hands are also scarred on the rare occasions she has had reason to call on her shamanic powers.  She wears the default uniform, but has a formal robe in pale grey with patterns depicting her guide that anyone with the lore can read. She also has her shaman gear, which doubles as hunting/battle gear if it is required. A black fur two piece, a mask made of jet and a long flint hunting spear.  Her ritual dagger is also black flint.

Personality: When not having to be a shaman, she is usually soft spoken and polite though she does rile at things which upset the natural order.  She is not against killing for food because her spirit guide does that.  She is against the exploitation of the mineral wealth of the country because she fears that it will allow darker powers into the bones of the land when the wealth is exhausted and also it will starve the land of its strength, both often dismissed as superstition.  As a shaman, she has to bring her force of will to the fore and every meeting with her guide leaves her exhausted, particularly if she is asking for a favour.

Strengths: Herbalism, hunting, nature magic (shamanic, druidic etc), and since hers is the old shamanism, a certain amount of blood magic as well.
Weaknesses: lack of confidence.
Fatal Flaw: Uncivilised. Though she does her best, the simple truth is she is more at home around campfires than high halls, and her magic works best when not surrounded by the trappings of civilisation.  This also affects her confidence because when confronted with beautiful things, she is likely to back down.

Dream in life: To get shamanism officially recognised as more than “peasant sorcery”.

Biography: She is not one of the ruling cast Harraf, but her parents are of the nobility So she can go back home to a wooden hut and a hot meal (if she chooses).  She was marked at birth under a blood moon, and the local shamans and witch doctors decreed that she would be one of their own.

Brionne met He Who Stalks the Night by chance when she was five and lived through that encounter. The shaman declared him as her Spirit Guide and since then, they have been together.  He is not her familiar and does as he chooses, and usually, he is not there at all.  He does make his presence felt however, and in her homeland, she is a welcome addition to hunting parties.

He Who Stalks the Night is one of the oldest of the swamp spirits and certainly not one of the most pleasant, and she was sent to the school hoping that the civilisation would bring back a daughter they used to sing songs to.
