Leaf Ubirra

Before the battle, I was something of an individualist, only the love of my wife, Kalseia saved me from myself.  When she joined the company, she dragged me from the bottle and insisted that I do the same.

Before the battle, I was a thief and a good one.  Unlike most thieves, what I stole was animals, mainly horses but also dogs, livestock and even the vicious mounts of goblins.

Before the battle I was lonely, finding comfort only in Kalseia's arms.  Some things never change.

The battle broke me.  After Kalseia died in my arms, I spent a year in tears and another year drunk, but slowly, a new woman, a Paladin of all things, began to pull me out of the swamp of despair into which I was falling.

Both my wife and I each spend three months per year on the road and the rest of the time together, looking after our lovely daughters Kalista and Flower.  When I am in Hartvale, I make a living as a locksmith and I am home every night in time to tell stories to the girls or to play with them or to help teach them.  Kalista is already able to beat me at Hneftafl nine times out of ten.  Not bad for a nine year old, eh? And Flower... ah my Flower, I see her as a future bard, I taught her to play the Mbira but now, she's twelve and she's learned all I can teach her.

Then there's my wife.  I miss her when we are apart: whether it is Spring and my time to wander the land, ensuring the health of the wild things; or whether it is Fall and her time to travel, where Justice needs her to fight for those who are oppressed.  Winter and Summer are the best times.  We don't agree on everything but I think we agree on more than we would before we fought in that battle.
