Avery Morgan

Name: She currently goes by the name Avery Morgan
Alias:  Senara.
Face/Model Claim: Gal Gadot.
True Age: 135
Apparent Age: 25-35
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Nationality: Croatian
Hometown: Island of Vis
Relatives: Deceased.

Job: Curator at Southport Maritime Museum.

Skills: Senara is a master at changing her Identity. She is multi lingual in several languages. She can perfect the accents of different regions, enough to fool even the Locals. A long life has given her a good education and she possesses a number of different Degrees under different aliases.

Height: 5' 7
Weight: 130
Eye Color:  Brown.
Hair Color: Brunette

Species: Merfolk.

Cursed or Born: Born

Abilities: In Mer form she has increased strength, stamina, speed and the ability to heal quickly matching that of a Lycanthrope or Vampire. In human form Senara is far more vulnerable and has only the ability to psychically Shield herself from the interference and prying of other preternatural.

Weaknesses: Senara must spend a certain amount of time in the Ocean, which means she remains close to Coastal areas. When she is submerged into Sea water, Senara becomes a breathtaking mythical creature both beautiful and monstrous.  Her body naturally transforms into a Mermaid. Her legs meld together and the lower half of her body develops a long exquisite iridescent scaled tail of multi-tonal greens and blues with large opaque flowing fins. Gills form on the side of her neck and her fingers become webbed. Her skin tone turns a silvery grey and thickens into a smooth almost dolphin like appearance with silver streaks through her long dark hair.  Her pupils bleed into her irises like black onyx and her teeth transform into razor sharp needle points. When only partially submerged, she takes on the appearance of half-Human, half-Mer as per the Legends behind Mermaid sightings.

Without regular visits to her natural habitat, Senara grows extremely weak and sickens quickly. Her human skin becomes highly sensitive and painful and is prone to heavy bruising. It would take only a few days before she starts to wither. Other natural bodies of water, such as lakes and rivers would sustain her for a short period of time, but not for long. The Chlorine in pools irritate her skin and for obvious reasons she can't swim publicly in natural salt water pools.

Personality in Brief: Due to her need to stay under the radar she upholds certain degree of distance from people, being sociable only when absolutely necessary in order to fit in. She is often considered quite shy in her softly spoken manner and few words. Although Senara is a beautiful woman and one to draw attention, she doesn't flirt and never dates, she will always decline politely when asked. She is courteous and professional concerning business matters but shies away from recreational and public functions, preferring a more secluded existence due to the lifestyle she has to lead. If Senara could choose it another way, then she would, but has found her existence is void of choices when it comes to her own preferences and happiness. Each Persona she uses is a strong advocate for Ocean Preservation and she takes time supporting the cause. But Avery Morgan herself has a strong phobia of water, or so she would lead people to believe.

History:

The roots of Merfolk mythology are more varied than one would expect suspecting some element of truth to their existence. The earliest known mermaid legends came from around 1000 BC, but the Merfolk have existed for much longer. The Sequestration species inhabited the ocean for many millennia, gradually evolving through the centuries to live upon secluded islands, sometimes in the guise of Humans themselves. The notoriety which followed the Merfolk ensured they always kept their true identities a secret. Seen as Vengeful evil creatures luring unsuspecting Seafarers to their watery deaths. Some of the stories were supposedly false, nothing but tales spun by Sailors delirious from scurvy, too much rum and months at sea. Others believed they saw drowning people and dove into the treacherous waters to save them only to find that they had disappeared into the depths. The most common stories were that Mermaids were incredibly skilled at seducing lonely sailors and dragging them down to their underwater kingdoms. It was also believed that they could cause storms and shipwrecks, that their voices were so enchantingly haunting that men could not resist the lure of the Sirens songs.

As the saying goes, there is a little bit of truth to every story told and the Merfolk were very real. Some indeed possessed the powers to roll the minds of humans and like any female of the species, others were vengeful creatures using their seductive powers to their advantage to overwhelm men and seek their revenge. In order to salvage their reputation the Merfolk killed those who possessed such powers eliminating them to extinction. The rare Sirens who survived the cull no longer abused their powers, keeping them hidden in fear of being hunted by their own kind.

Born of a Mer Mother named Maira and a Human Father, Senara grew up on the Island of Vis. Her Father, a Fisherman was not a kind man. His volatile temper and drinking habits often made him abusive towards his Wife. She was tolerant of his behaviour towards her but as Senara grew older, her Mother found it difficult to make excuses for him and hide his vitriol nature from their Daughter. Senara, at only five years old came to despise her Father, becoming more outspoken in defense of her Mother until he too silenced her with his violent hand. The ordeal left the child battered and bruised with the promise from her Mother that she would see to it that he would pay for what he had done.  After his next fishing trip, her Father never returned with his Crew. They spoke of a catastrophic storm and in the chaos a strange eerie voice in mellifluous song which lured Senara's Father into the deathly embrace of the Ocean.

As the story spread, the Merfolk soon came for Maira to punish her for her transgression of revealing herself as a Siren and bringing further attention to their kind. She begged them to spare Senara, claiming her to be human, though the truth lay with Maira having never allowing the child's toes to touch the ocean. The Merfolk first killed Maira, then took the frightened child to a high cliff overhanging the crashing waves.  If she was human they would save her, if she was Mer, then her fear would drive her into her first transition.  They could not ignore the risk of her inheriting her Mother's abilities and they could not allow another Siren to live.

As soon as the child broke through the surface of the water she transformed into the beautiful sea creature she was always destined to be. Knowing her fate. Senara took to the water with the preternatural speed of a Mer and wove away from the shore and deep into the depths. Days blended into the next, escaping both the Merfolk and sea predators, she skirted land to put as much distance behind her, until she eventually she washed up on the shallow shores of Valencia hungry and petrified.

For the latter part of her journey, close to the coast line of Spain. Senara had been followed, closely watched by a lone Selkie who had become fascinated by the small Mer Creature.  When he hit land, Niall shed his seal skin, lifting the now human child protectively arms and took her to safety.

The years passed by and the two formed a strong Paternal bond. So unlike her own Father, Niall was kind, caring and protected Senara at all costs. Gradually as she reached adulthood Senara aged at a slower pace than Niall who had not been born a Selkie but was instead a cursed shape shifter. She kept her true identity hidden, taught by Niall who assisted with his contacts with Vampires to get her the documentation to change her identity when needed. Eventually time caught up with Niall and he passed, leaving Senara alone in the world.

Every ten years Senara takes on a new identity and frequently moves to a new location. Years have amassed her a comfortable wealth and her knowledge in Antiques means she can pass funds easily from one persona to another. She has earned herself a number of Masters Degrees under different guises affording her an extensive wealth of knowledge. She has learned many languages, making it easy to move from Country to Country and fit in smoothly.

What Senara can't change is the loneliness she feels or her capability of attachment in the desire to love and care for another. One with a benevolent heart, her elusive approach sees that she avoids any connections if only for the heartache they bring with them. She cannot forge genuine friendships. She cannot afford to fall in love. She could never have children of her own in fear that if the Merfolk ever found her, they would do to her child what they would do to her. Senara never did develop the advanced powers of the Siren like her Mother, she is no different from those who hunt her, yet she still hides from them.

Her current identity is Avery Morgan. Unmarried. Twenty nine years old. Born of Maryland. Recently having took a position of Curator at the Maritime Museum. She lives in a large secluded Beach House with a long term lease paid upfront. And for the next few years, all going well, Seascape House on Oak Island will be her Home.
