Appearance: The bear of a man has light brown hair and mossy green eyes. 6'4" tall and about 225 lbs. He isn't obsessed with his appearance and his regimen includes combing his hair with his fingers after a shower before he leaves his home for work.

Weaknesses: Ethan is unable to read a witch's handwriting when they are making spells. He has in his possession the book of spells that belonged to the witch that cursed him but he is unable to read it. The words just look like gibberish and are impossible for him to decode. Also, Nia Ellison. The man is hopelessly devoted to her and not in a normal way. It borders on creepy obsession. He would do anything for her and if anyone said that she was in trouble, he would follow them, even into a trap, to give her aid.

Personality in Brief: He is a talker. He is prone to brutal honesty with no filter. He is prone to saying exactly what is on his mind at the time with little thought of consequence. His confidence scale is warped. He is confident in things he is bad at, and not at all confident in things he excels at. Because of his many years spent forced within his feline form (see history), his social skills are severely lacking, and sometimes he doesn't understand the point of simple pleasantries, which often makes people he meets view him as simple minded or distant in first impressions. It isn't uncommon that he experiences rage directed at himself when he feels he's messed up something, and sometimes takes it out on himself physically when he is alone because his coping skills are lacking.



Any Other Notes: He has a very expressive face, and very rarely can contain his emotion from showing in his features. He is Nia Ellison's familiar, though neither himself or Nia are currently aware of it. He really loves wet cat food sandwiches, but indulges privately. Super ultra mega huge fan of 80's music. Can be frequently heard whistling or singing it.

History: Ethan didn't grow up in the best of environments. Born to parents who didn't really give much of a damn about him, he was neglected and eventually removed from the home at a young age and placed in foster care.  For whatever reason, he was never adopted and remained bouncing from foster home to foster home up until he could live in a group home for teenagers that would likely never be adopted due to behavioral problems. He went on to join a vocational school during his last two years of high school and learned an electrical trade diploma. He only got to use his knowledge for six months.

When he was eighteen, established with a job and an apartment of his own, the accident happened, out on a back road on the outskirts of the city as he was on his way to see his girlfriend. He didn't mean to hit the cat.  It ran out in front of him in the night.  Feeling awful for what he'd done, he collected the body of the cat in a blanket he had in the trunk of his car, and after looking at the tag, discovered where the home of this poor pet was.  Wanting to do the right thing instead of just driving off, he took the deceased pet back to its owner. In the decade after that night before he was finally free, he wished he had just driven away.

The pet belonged to a witch and it was her beloved pet.  Angered by the death of her feline companion, she cursed Ethan to take its place.  Not only did she curse him to be a shapeshifter for the rest of his life, but cursed him into his feline form indefinitely until either the witch willed it differently, or the power behind the second curse died.  For a decade, Ethan remained in his feline form, a rather hateful companion to the witch.  Many times, he tried to escape and the witch always spelled him back. Eventually, wards were put up, and Ethan learned that the cat he had hit?  Had been a young woman the witch had spelled before, who was in the middle of escaping her.

The witch ended up having crossed a wrong set of individuals, and for one reason or another, it was decided she would be slain for her offenses. However, when she was beaten nearly to death and those responsible for the assault left her to die, Ethan had to finish her off in order to get himself free.  The witch, jaw and limbs broken, died an excruciating death, as Ethan dug with his claws into the woman's stomach, and it took ages, but he was able to do enough damage to the internal organs to kill the woman. Minutes after the witch took her last breath, Ethan was able to breathe from human lungs again as he shifted back into his human form beyond his control.  In relief, he wept, and hid out at the witch's home, burying the witch in her own backyard.

For a week, he walked on all fours, as it was what he was used to, and watched the television to help aid him in recovering his speech again.  It felt strange to be able to talk again.  He ate the cat food that was still in the home for his meals, having become accustomed to it.  Eventually, he was able to walk on his own two feet and once the cat food ran out, he tried other things in the home. He didn't leave the house until he had to.

Readjusting to human life was difficult for him and for a while, he was homeless, not having anyone to rely on, and he learned on his own that he had to shift once a week or else the change would come even when he didn't want it to. He may not be bound to the moon, but he was bound to the curse.

He was able to rehabilitate himself over the next few months and resorted to stealing in order to get enough money to set himself up in the city again. Having gotten another job and an apartment, he spent the next year craving human contact and affection, which he'd never been given before.  Over the course of the year, two women in separate incidences showed him kindness and affection that he latched onto immediately, but it wouldn't be long before he became obsessed with them, and eventually somewhat crazy about their distancing themselves when he got too needy.  It resulted in multiple protective/restraining orders against him.  Knowing he'd never be able to live normally in that city again, he decided that the best thing for him to do would be to just up and move somewhere else, to start a new life and hopefully this time, be able to do it right.

He randomly chose a city about 5 hours drive from where he had been. Afraid of being in a big city again, he researched the outskirts and and suburbs and found the small town of Winchester. He obtained employment and lodgings in one interview, taking the empty apartment atop a law firm in the downtown square of the small town. He closed out all of his accounts, packed two suitcases, and sold the rest of his belongings. Having started his new life and getting a new apartment with a new job and then a promotion only a year later, he hoped he could make the best of his second chance at life.

His new life didn't last long, as he came into contact with a young woman named Nia Ellison. Instantly bonded to her (unbeknownst to them both) and enamored with her, he began to work for her by fixing up a property that she had. When a lycan (though Nia doesn't know he's a lycan) by the name of Sebastian came to Nia for help with removing a curse, Ethan worked with her to try and find a way, hitting dead end after dead end, until they finally found a lead that would take them across the country. Without hesitation, he took vacation time from his job and traveled with Nia and Sebastian across the country, to try and find answers for Sebastian.
