Lt. O'Shaugnessy (Helm)

Name: Riley O'Shaugnessy

Lt. O'Shaugnessy was born aboard her family's Kowloon-class modular conveyor, the MSV Beckett. She joined the Alliance Navy at the age of 23, when her family's shipping business was on the verge of failing, due to debts arising from repairs after a pirate attack.

Riley's scores indicated that she was a good candidate for pilot training. It was not really a surprise - she had flown the family ship for about eight years by then. After a tour of duty with the 66th Interceptor Squadron (Rahbar's Raptors), she transferred to piloting capital ships, specializing in frigates.

Riley is an expert dancer, and won first place in Fifth Fleet's Jitterbug competition last year. She gives dancing lessons in several different styles, and also runs a calisthenics program for officers and NCOs. Attendance has quadrupled since she was put in charge of the program.

Lt. O'Shaugnessy has a mane of flaming red hair, fierce green eyes, and better curves than a Syd Mead painting.
