Kurik Galanta

Description:

Standing somewhere in the region of six foot two in Terran measure and possessed of a darkly gleaming burnished metallic bronze carapace, Kurik is a modestly handsome (Brendan Fraser, not Harrison Ford) example of Turian manhood somewhere in his early thirties, one steadily bent upon rising through the ranks of society through dedicated service to the community, or should that fail at least getting occasional credit for things that explode in his vicinity.

Long-limbed and graceful his eyes are the bright gold of an eagles whilst he's chosen to have his facial tattoos (ones that mark him as hailing from the quiet colonial backwater of Carthaan) implanted in a deep military blue. Under normal circumstances he dresses in what used to be a pretty damn' good (but is now merely old) medium-weight Predator hardsuit (whose reactive surface is usually set to a deep-mottled 'chloroworld' camo-pattern) or a comfortable padded shipsuit, and when on duty is rarely seen without a Serrice-council pattern omni-tool on his right forearm and a second-hand, much-used but still powerful Haliat Stiletto on his left hip.

When serious combat is in the offing, he will sometimes break a battered Banshee assault rifle out of the shipboard armoury and hope it'll still fire clean without searing his fingers off but in truth he's marksman-rated for a variety of weapons and isn't too fussy when the eezo's crackling and the slugs are flying.

File

Kurik Galanta has a fairly short file as far as Alliance Intelligence is concerned, albeit one that's heavy on 'see also' links - mostly connecting to incident reports on the extranet. He rose through the Turian militia, merchant marine and recently the customs service and until recently was the Captain-of-record for the Celebrants Demand, a customs frigate that has a much, much longer file that mostly consists of engineering casualty reports and 'it turned up where?' tags that are indicative of an old frame pressed into duties far beyond its normal life across most of Citadel Space and far, far beyond.

He's noted for his lax but generally imaginative approach to customs enforcement and the law, his on-record stance as 'never having been in favour of the restrictions on unusual punishment' and his semi-annual internal affairs investigations, most of which seem to stem from someone in IA annoying a higher-up and being given a tangled mass of paperwork, bar tabs, receipts on the back of ration pack wrappers and reports printed on flimsy, much-recycled plas printouts to decipher. These rarely amount to much.

His encounters with Alliance personnel have been minor but reasonably civil, several of which involved assistance being rendered on engineering problems (three times by the Celebrants Demand to Alliance freighters, twice by Alliance Freighters to the Celebrants Demand) and two actual weapons fire (one of which led to the second round of assistance provided to the Seedy as several major components failed on her while she was chasing a Terminus raider off with spinal gunfire).

He is not currently classified as a security risk, although a small hand-written tag of uncertain provenance on his file suggests that an Alliance officer looking to take him onto their ship might well do better to find an albatross they could kick to death if they were really that starved for excitement.
