El is a magewright of House Cannith.    Although it's been two decades since the Dragon's Dance, it's taken time for magecraft to adapt and for Cannith mages to reach distressed customers and remote projects.  The house has spent a great deal of money--sometimes out of pocket--making customers whole.  And until recently the members of the house have been spread thin.

El's spent years traveling around auditing the electric rail and repairing damaged Cannith products.  A sharp-tongued person, El considers herself an an expert who tells it like it is.  She's been in many tight situations in remote regions and seen more combat than she ever expected.  As a result, she isn't too trusting, nor is she the warm and fuzzy type.
