Buto

Though he has never been properly measured, Buto is around 6’10” tall and weighs in the neighborhood of 300 pounds.  He looks large and bulky, tends to fill up any doorway he passes through.  He has long, back hair that usually hangs open over his shoulders, and an equally long, unkempt black beard that tapers down to a point mid-chest.  He looks very much like a large human in stature, though his facial features seem slightly more predatory than most humans, with a large, flat nose, slightly narrowed eyes, and a wide mouth.

Buto’s skin is a blue-green, appearing more blue or more green depending on the lighting.  He has a number of tattoos on his chest and arms.  Buto generally wears a chain shirt and otherwise unremarkable clothing.  Buto carries an enormous axe that is too heavy for most people to lift.  Buto found the axe collecting dust on a weapon rack in the Ptolus arena where he and his companions once took part in a public exhibition match.  Buto was intrigued by the weapon, and took it with him when he left the arena.

Buto has a small hedgehog named Yozhik that he keeps with him at all times.  Yozhik is wholly unremarkable in appearance, but seems possessed of a sweet soul, enjoying the company of small children.  Yozhik can usually be found riding on Buto’s shoulder, tucked into a pocket, or inside of a special satchel Buto carries.

In terms of skills, Buto is a crossblooded Bloodrager (part Aberrant, part Arcane).  Currently he is unable to cast spells, although he can use a racial elemental attack.  He has been training with a family of wizards for a few years to try and teach him to use his latent magical abilities.  Though he has never been able to light so much as a candle with a spell, he does seem to be on the cusp of a breakthrough.  Currently he focuses mostly on his axe, which he wields in two hands and with incredible strength, although he lacks a lot in skill.

Buto is possessed of an unwavering self-confidence common to Sulis.  He is equally possessed of a gruff, arrogant attitude.  Although Buto generally does not mean harm to others, his direct way of pointing out the flaws or failings in others often comes off as rude or inconsiderate.  Buto is fond of animals and small children, who he views as an extension of animals; generally helpless against the world around them.  However, outside of those two, Buto sees most others as challenges to be overcome, especially in combat.  Buto is driven by a desire to prove himself against others, preferring not only to win against enemy combatants, but to entirely demolish them.  This desire, along with a deep-seated hatred of his father, gives Buto a raging strength in battle that is as fearsome as it is deadly.
