[DnD 5e] Congregation of Knaves

In the Free City of Greyhawk, the Gem of the Flannaes, danger llurks down every dark alley. Treacherous oligarchs and their courtiers prowl the halls of power working to strengthen their grip on economic and political power. Sell-swords stalk the city streets eager to test their steel against all comers. Iconoclastic spell-slingers huddle in their crumbling towers summoning terrible forces to pursue unfathomable ends. And hidden cultists skitter through the shadows of the city's streets fomenting anarchy. There's action, adventure and wealth too for those with the light-fingered skill and bravado to take it.

It's been two generations since the old Thieve's Guild collapsed in a brutal civil war that claimed the lives of many innocent bystanders. In the aftermath of that brutal conflict, Greyhawk's ruling Oligarchs and the Circle of Eight from the Wizard's Guild imposed the Treaty of Thorns on the remaining thieves. This contract established four clans of thieves with assigned territory across the city. Their lives and livelihoods were saved, at the cost of not being able to target the Oligarchs and Wizard's Guild members.

The uneasy peace among the city's criminal underground has persisted for the past fifty years, until now. Mysteriously, a fifth theive's guild appeared virtually overnight. This new Congregation of Knaves threatens to destabilize the city. You are one of these upstart rogues, seek fame, fortune and survival on the mean streets of Greyhawk.
