Physical Description:
Rex is a man of almost remarkable height, and though there are some men taller, his physique only adds to the aura about him. At 6'7" tall and almost three hundred pounds, Rex commands attention wherever he goes. Wide in the shoulders, it is obvious that the man is well built, and his tanned skin speaks to the time he spends outdoors. The heavily calloused hands also tells the tale of a man used to physical work.

Other than his height and physique, the next thing most people notice about Rex is his hair. Long and well past his shoulders, he is quite proud of his locks, and he is always well groomed with his almost golden colored hair well brushed and shining. His eyes, a very light blue to a hazel as light permits, are full of warmth an kindness.

Due not only to his job, but his own personal preference, Rex prefers clothing that has function over form, and mostly wears cotton and leather. Still, he appreciates fine clothing and is not averse to wearing it if the situation calls for it. It is rumored that the man cleans up quite well.





The human guise is one he presents to the world in his daily life. Most do not know the man is a pneumafera, and he likes to keep it that way. He is one of the few able to assume a human form, and he uses this to blend into his surroundings. As a lion pneumafera he is quite powerful, but would be unable to gain access to the world like he does as a man. His leonine form is rather massive, at nearly 8' in height and weighing 600lbs.


Personality:
Rex is generally a calm and collected sort of person. Such a trait was developed over time and through the military training he underwent. However, the man does have a wild side and likes to party and carouse with his friends. Rex is a man that revels in his senses, and is finely in tune with how things make him feel. How things look, and smell, how they taste and their tactile qualities are all extremely important to the man and lion both. A lover of the arts, Rex adores music. Though he cannot draw very well, he has a deep appreciation for such things, and also for the culinary arts. He has been a man described as simply loving life. He lives each day to the fullest, having seen many harsh things and knowing that the simplest of pleasures can be ripped from you so easily.


Background:
Rex was born on one of the floating islands that the penumafera now call home. Like most of his kind, the predator caste, he was inducted into the military as soon as he was no longer a cub. The pneumafera constantly prepare for conflict, afraid that another cataclysm will strike Tarduril that gave birth to their race. Both a blessing and a curse, they train so that they might one day combat evil where it arises.

Rex took to his training well, finding the greatsword to be his weapon of choice, and though he trained first with tooth and claw, honing his natural ability, he loved the sound of ringing steel. However, staying on the island just was not for him, and when they once stopped at port, which was a rarity, he stole away and ran. He was a young pneumafera then, and did not know the name of the world... but he knew enough not to go out on his own without being able to be seen as human. The military had trained hi how to assume his human form, but he could only hold that form for a few hours before fatigue made him switch back to his more natural state. This was not an unusual thing, and he was provided a ring. For him, it was the "Ring of the Lion". There were all types, and meant to keep their kind in their human forms.

Using the ring he slipped into human society and found an organization that was just the sort of thing he wanted to be a part of, the Bracers. They were a warrior's guild, made up of fighters, rogues, and all sorts that just wanted to help those less fortunate than themselves, or those that simply needed help. Roaming monsters, overeager thieves... the Bracers acted as a sort of protection agency. They were paid to take care of various sorts of jobs that the larger guilds would not take.

Rex fit in well, and was soon paired off with a tiny halfling woman named Jilla. She was a rogue of some skill, and they were hired to recover a stolen heirloom. She was the counter-thief and he was the muscle to keep her safe. They worked well together, recovered the item and were soon an official team. Their reputation grew and so did their bond. It was not long before Rex revealed his true nature to her, and he thought she would reject him, refuse to work with him. Quite the opposite, and Jilla seemed even more drawn to him, and soon the two started a very tawdry love affair. It was not long before they professed their love, and presented themselves to the Guildmaster, a man named Talathorn Grimslade. Tal was understanding, more than he had a right to be, considering Rex was a pneumafera. He swore his knowledge of that to secrecy and married them as they requested.

As a wedding gift he gave Rex a bright blue tabard, and Jilla a powerful stealth-based piece of magicite. The tabard has no magical properties on its own but is adorned with a lion, signifying Rex's true nature, and that lion depicted has two tails, showing both his lion and human sides.

They have been married now for over a decade and are called upon by the Bracers to accomplish missions that are extremely difficult.

●Accessory: Ring of the Lion; allows Rex to stay in his human form while still accessing his lion strength speed and senses. Should the ring be removed he immediately reverts to his lion form.
