Jhoik: New Legends

Jhoik: New Legends is a collaborative story as well as a traditional D&D campaign.

This game is set in my own campaign setting, which is centered around the human empire of Jhoik, who named their continent after themselves (because why wouldn't you) and whose heart is the Imperial City of Mennin, which resides primarily where the two rivers Thol and Kaster intersect.

While I've spent years fleshing out this setting, it is important to leave enough room for you the player to tell your own story as well. Until you ask me the specifics, I'm going to keep things vague enough for a player to put in their own details. Right up to the point that several of the Noble Houses who are active all throughout the Empire don't even have names. They are blank slates for players who want to create their own backstory to use if my own creations don't quite line-up with what they wanted to do.

So if you want to describe the family manse, or the peculiarities of your childhood servant or the specific techniques of your armorsmith, by all means, please do without reservation. Try not to contradict me about big things and I wont contradict you on the smaller things, right?

This also means I'm going to try and personalize what happens in the bigger story with what is going on with each player. I cant promise to include every hook in your background, but the more you have, the better my odds of getting something to significance that is satisfying.

The experience of my players is also going to be unique to a degree. Unless all of you end up coming from the same House with the same social and professional preferences, your going to have different sources of information. Each house has its own secrets and its own ambitions and its own priorities and those will be passed on to the players. Whether they choose to do anything with them, of course...

Total party size I'm aiming for is 5-6.
As the DM, I'll be posting all the time of course but my expectation for players is 'once per week day', so 5 days a week. I'm flexible on this if the group wants to change to a different speed, of course.
