Bak'ad

Name:  Bak’ad
Sex: Male
Alignment: Anarchist   |   Species: Fire Wind Dragon [pg 160 Rifts Ultimate edition book]
Height/Body Length: 4 Feet (currently) about the size of a medium to large dog
Weight: 250lbs (currently) Heavy scales and dense body tissues

Appearance: Thick overlapping scales of a dull maroon color with brighter red along each of the outer edges almost looking like the coals of a fire burning low.  The scaly creature has a surprisingly expressive face and often times shows a smile—the smile of wonder at the world as he sees it for the first time.  His eyes are black like a shark, though they will glow when his scales flare up into a spectacular display of pyromania—usually when agitated.  His clawed limbs are strong and able to perform some

Human form: 5 feet 6 inches tall and about 140lbs and sandy blonde hair, scruffy facial hair and appears to be in his early 20’s.  He seems to be wearing a dirty beat up looking suit of Huntsman body armor and carries a L-20 pulse rifle with him, though obviously these just part of his disguise as a human being and more than irrelevant when in dragon form.

Bak’ad’s father was a wilderness scout…  sort of.  Basil Kads had found the nest when it was unguarded due to the dragons being out investigating an intrusion into their “backyard” and when he raided it he took the egg.  He knew enough about dragons to hatch it and sure enough he found himself with a new companion, which was his plan.  Bak’ad named himself after his companion and the two were set on an adventure soon after…  So he didn’t quite understand the pronunciation of the human's name at the time, but the stubborn little dragonling stuck with it.  They were destined to be traveling with one another for a very long time!

Or not.

Basil and a vagabond they met on the road within a day or so argued over a trade they were trying to negotiate.  Some words were said that were regrettable and Basil killed the man, but at the same time, the man killed him too.  Bak’ad was alone.    Of course the hatchling was not helpless, luckily he had learned a few things in his short time—and got a meal or two out of the corpses (only out of respect!), so took the salvageable gear, or rather the armor and weapon of Basil and then went looking for a new person to follow around.

...and found himself meeting up with a long range Coalition patrol who had stopped to take a break.  A red scaled dragon hatchling approaching a coalition group apparently sets off alarms in the silly human minds.  Bak'ad tried to say hello and instead got shot at.  In response he gave one of them a hug.  People like hugs right?  Well, apparently not when you burst into flames and burn the guy to a crisp.

And that was when he met Juzui and Megistias.  They came to his rescue and since then Bak'ad has been following those two around.

Downside?  Why must there always be one?
