Victoria had a minor accident a few years back involving the Coalition and a whole lot of firepower. To get her back on her legs again she opted for stronger bionic reconstruction rather than the more gentle but less durable bio systems. The bionics have since wrecked havoc on her psionics but the extra strength and power makes her feel much more powerful and strong.
