PERSONALITY: When among friends Jon can be open and rather talkative although he still has a problem with interpersonal reactions and will often completely miss what most would consider polite social cues. This stems from a childhood spent almost completely alone and fending for himself as a result of his Fathers itinerant life style wandering from one union job to the next.

With an I.Q. that has been described as terrifying he is almost manic in his desire to learn new things and can become obsessive about anything that captures his interest and will study whatever that may be to the exclusion of all else. This has resulted in him being well beyond a collage level in some things but almost ignorant about others. Jon's research methods however sometimes leave a lot to be desired as they can, and have in the past, amounted to smashing something with a hammer then examining the pieces to try to see how it worked. He does not however appear to have the creative genius displayed by the Beast or Xavier, a fact that probably helps some people sleep better at night.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:  Jon is a fairly unattractive young man with maybe a hint of Mediterranean or Indian ancestry revealed by high cheek bones, a long , rather sharp nose, and a dark mahogany complexion. He has a wide mouth that smiles easily and a rounded but prominent chin. The overall impression is of a face just waiting to grow into its self.  It is also very apparent that he spends a great deal of his time outside and is no stranger to walking long distances.

Jon has a slender athletic body with the lean build of a long distance runner and he does in fact enjoy running as a form of exercise and relaxation. He can also swims like an oiled fish. While not a skilled fighter he does know enough to allow him to disable most people at least for enough time to run away.

The only clothes John seems to own is a pair of white canvas Docker pants, a pair of rope sandals that appear homemade and a faded blue tank top ’T’ shirt. Jon most often wears a turban or a large sock on his head to conceal his tenticles. He still almost constantly wears his Oakey Iridiums to protect his eyes from bright light.

Jon will almost always have a battered old backpack with him.  It may have originally been made of leather but it has been patched and repaired so many times that it is now impossible to tell for sure.  If all of the country, state and city pins on it are any indication while he may not have yet been to the ends of the Earth he could probably see it from where he has been.

UNUSUAL FEATURES:  In place of hair Jon has a thick mass of writhing flesh colored tentacles that move with an independent life of their own. Each tentacle is roughly a ¼” in diameter and approximately thirty inches long when relaxed. The tentacles are very limber and elastic and can elongated by half again their normal length or contract to about a third. He can control their movement to some extent but without any precision.

Another unusual item about Jon is his eyes. They are pure white in color with no visible iris and a dagger like vertical black pupil. While his vision appears to be human normal his eyes are vulnerable to bright light and he can be easily dazzled or blinded by too bright of a light.

SKILLS : Jon is very knowledgeable in the areas of Chemestry, Electronics, and Physics and by extension most forms of Math, Algebra, Geometry, and Triginometry as he needed to learn yhe one in order to understand the other. He is however self taught and this has left him with some rather odd holes in his understandingthat can sometimes sneak up and bite him.

In his six plus years of going Walkabout he has worked as a roustabout for a circus, a carpenter, electrician, brick mason, semi truck driver and a roadie for a heavy metal band. There was also a two week period on an Alaskan crab boat but as that was mostly him puking over the side he doesn't count it.  As a result of all of this he has a rather diverse skill set. He is very use to 'Roughing it' andis adverse to sleeping inside if at all avoidable.  While he does not like firearms he is a very skilled shot with a sling shot and carries what he calls 'The Three Pillars of Destruction'. It is all steel construction and shaped like a 'W'. At full draw it is almost 80 pounds of tension.

Because Jon uses his powers on an almost daily basis and due to his almost obsesive desire to learn about anything that interests him, he has an almost complete understanding of what he can and can not do with his abilities and can use them without needing to realy think about it.  The one thing he has been unable to do however is duplicate his backpack.
